The Grammy Awards will go on as scheduled Feb. 2, but most of the parties surrounding them will not. All three major record labels — Universal, Warner and Sony Music Groups — have canceled Grammy-related events due to the LA wildfires and will instead redirect those funds toward relief efforts.
Early 2000s hitmakers O-Town want you to know that although the band formed on the TV show Making the Band, they have nothing to do with Diddy and the scandals surrounding him. The group tells The Hollywood Reporter they’re having trouble getting bookings because people mistakenly believe Diddy discovered them. But O-Town was on the show’s first iteration in 2000; Diddy took over the second iteration in 2002. “The more people confuse us with a Diddy band and post our pictures with his story, the more it goes against us,” says O-Town’s Jacob Underwood. “We make a living touring and can’t afford to have [bookers] Googling us to find the latest Diddy clickbait.”
If you never got to see Sara Bareilles star in her musical Waitress on Broadway, the filmed version of her performance will make its streaming debut on Max Feb. 14. Waitress: The Musical stars Sara as a waitress and expert pie baker who longs to break out of a bad personal situation.
And speaking of Broadway, Deadline reports that Gracie Lawrence of the band Lawrence will make her debut on the Great White Way opposite Jonathan Groff in Just In Time, a musical based on the life of ’50s recording star Bobby Darin. Gracie, who also stars in the series The Sex Lives of College Girls, will portray singer Connie Francis in the show; Groff plays Darin.
